Your Cal 1 Card is your official campus ID. You'll be asked for it many times around campus – signing in at the residence halls, accessing the libraries, and voting in ASUC elections are just a few examples.
It's also used to enjoy the many benefits you're entitled to as a student or faculty/staff member at UC Berkeley, such as access to sports events, the RSF, free admission at the Berkeley Art Museum, and free rides on AC Transit. You should always carry your Cal 1 Card with you, because there are many more uses and you might need it at any time!
